Ryan Golsing is Sick of Himself
"The Gos" reacts to the praise and attention he has been getting this year...
Ryan Gosling, voted man of the year, is down playing the recent hype he has been getting thanks to films like Crazy Stupid Love, Drive and Ides of March. In particular, his performances in Drive and Ides have brought him critical claim and recognition as a bona fide movie star, but the 31 year old actor has been in the business for a while. In our recent review of Ides of March, we highlight this very fact and that Gosling has already churned out some memorable performances.
It's not just his movies that have been garnering press either. In August, Gosling was the center of attention when he found himself caught on film trying to stop a street fight that occurred in the St. Marks area of New York City. His love life also has gotten huge media coverage, from stories about ex-girlfriends Sandra Bullock and Rachel McAdams surfacing to being seen out with current flame Eva Mendes.
Gosling, who refuses to discuss Mendes, revealed to Australian newspaper The Advertiser that he thinks that the world's obsession with him is a little silly.
I'm just so sick of myself. I can't imagine how everyone else feels. And there's just nowhere to go but down really from here. So, hey, it's been nice. It's been real.
This follows from his announcement via the UK newspaper The Times that he can't see himself acting much longer, but the former Oscar nominee has the next year of his life completely booked up already with film projects, including a remake of the film Logan's Run with Drive director Nicholas Winding Refn - which should be awesome.
It doesn't look like he will be "retiring" any time soon, but he went onto say the following:
I've never booked myself up like this. I used to make a film every year or two. A week after I finished The Place Beyond the Pines, I started on my current film Gangster Squad. We'll see. I may come to regret it but I just want to be making films right now. The opportunities are so great I don't want just to be hanging out. I feel like this is the time for me to be productive.
We here believe that Gosling deserves the recognition that he is now getting - both for his movies and his relations with Hollywood's hottest women! And we agree that it is good to end on high, but we don't think he has reached his peak yet. Hopefully he realises that too, and as long as he has movies come his way that challenge him, we are sure that he will continue to act. Why? because he clearly loves to act!
